It is very important that children grow up in a rich linguistic environment. Parents need to be good linguistic models, by using correct grammar, syntax and vocabulary. Language development is dependent on the language stimuli children receive.
Older children are more likely to be successful in school, if they have advanced linguistic skills. They are expected to both comprehend and use correctly the vocabulary that it is used for each lesson in order to do well in that subject. In addition, they are expected to follow complex verbal and/or written directions.
The e-books that I have created can be used with typically developing children, but also with children who are slow in their language development. Through the use of these e-books, children receive the appropriate stimuli in order to develop all the necessary skills for school success.
