For Children who have difficulty with organization and who might have characteristics from the autistic spectrum disorder, we use methods from

Therapy for each child is individualized to his/her needs and the needs of the family.

Maria Paphiti, PhD., CCC-SLP, CESS
Speech-Language pathologist
European Specialization on Fluency Disorders

Maria Paphiti, PhD, CCC-SLP, CESS, has been a speech-language pathologist since 1996. In 1997, she earned the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, which she has maintained to the present day. In 2011, she completed the Master’s-level European Clinical Specialization in Fluency Disorders (ECSF) program and is the only speech-language pathologist in Cyprus to hold the title of Certified European Stuttering Specialist (CESS).

She also holds the title of Hanen-Certified Speech-Language Pathologist, demonstrating specialized expertise in early language development. She has worked as a speech-language pathologist in special schools in New York and for eighteen years in public elementary education in Cyprus. Since 2016, she has been working in private practice.

In November 2024, she successfully defended her doctoral dissertation, “Inhibitory Control and Cognitive Flexibility in Children who Stutter”, at the University of Turku, Finland, and was awarded the degree of Doctor of Philosophy by the same institution. Since Fall 2024, she has been teaching undergraduate speech-language pathology courses at European University Cyprus.
